Allegri on Como: "We must neutralize their strengths, ball possession and speed"
In today's press conference, Napoli coach Max Allegri was asked about tomorrow's match at the Maradona against Como, in addition to market news.
The first home game holds significant meaning. What does Napoli aim to offer the fans beyond the result?
'It's the first home game, it will be emotional, in our stadium, with our fans. Regarding the match, we face Como, who have achieved extraordinary things and represent a new reality in Italian football for their accomplishments and qualifications. They are well-organized, possess good technique, and we'll need a strong performance to get a result. Our condition at this stage isn't optimal yet; temperatures are still high. It's important to play with good technique but also with great intelligence and patience. We are facing a difficult team to play against.'
Should we expect lineup changes compared to Genoa? Is the 4-2-3-1 formation used in the second half also a possibility from the start?
'I haven't decided on the lineup yet. I'll have to decide tomorrow morning because the game is then. It's not that winning by including Vergara and De Bruyne means all future games will be the same; each game is different and must be interpreted based on the circumstances.'
What must be avoided against Como?
'Let's focus on what we must do: play a game to neutralize their strengths, which are their excellent ball possession and their dangerous speed when they break forward.'
